“We are normally taught that we can only understand or reach our spiritual selves through non-tangible, non-physical activities like meditation. However I believe that when we experience the awesome mobility of the body, and what the body is capable of achieving, we can experience a profound deep, spiritual state – we find our sense of ‘aliveness’.“

| My Workout Yoga |
Welcome. Unless you have landed on this site by complete accident, you probably already know a little something about yoga. WorkOutYoga, however, may be fairly new or unknown to you, so here is the explanation for those, as yet, uninitiated.
WorkOutYoga is the combination of Rolfing®, an intense body therapy, and the more traditional Hatha yoga.
WorkOutYoga is for the young and old, the fit and unfit, the strong and those wanting to build strength. WorkOutYoga is a form of body therapy that will use the tangible of your body to embrace the intangible of your soul. It is a spiritual journey that builds strength, fitness and focus.
WorkOutYoga was born when Mattheus, a trained Rolfer (European Rolfing Institute) and Woyo® instructor realised that what we understand as yoga could be lifted to the next level of body/mind synergy by incorporating more body therapy. |

“By embracing your body’s natural tendencies, by embracing who you are and what your body is capable of, you can find the essence of why you are alive. I believe that the physical body mirrors the soul. Your body is a representation of your history, your experiences and your dreams.” |

| Workout Yoga for everyone |
WorkOutYoga is for everyone! It is designed so that people of all ages and fitness levels can participate in one class. Instructors are trained to do many levels at one time so a grandmother and grandson can happily work alongside a new mom and an athlete training for a tri-athlon. WorkOutYoga is as beneficial to first timers as it is to the physically fit who want to build their strength.
WorkOutYoga starts off with a range of Yoga asanas (positions) and prep exercises to gently build your strength and suppleness. Using various blocks, belts and balls in combination with exercises and Yoga asanas, each unique and thorough workout is custom designed to the individual. |

“What we are searching for is not the meaning of life, but that which proves to us how alive we are. The body gives messages in the form of pain and fear, to help us focus on the areas in our lives where we are not feeling that sense of ‘aliveness’.“ |

| Workout Yoga in South Africa |
South African born Mattheus, is bringing WorkOutYoga to Cape Town with the aim of teaching the discipline to other South Africans. He will be hosting a series of workshops in the Mother City in 2009. From there he aims to take WorkOutYoga to Johannesburg. |
